One of the highlights of the Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum is the twenty-three 8' x 5' mural paintings on each side of the hall telling the story of the African American plight from life in Africa, slavery, to life here in America. Each of these full-color murals was custom-produced by renowned artists. The attention to detail, color and theme will keep you talking about your experience for years. Additionally, each mural has a recorded description that will certainly enhance your experience at the Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum. This collection of murals has been made possible by a grant from the Tangipahoa Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau.
