The Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum has been offering summer programs for over a decade, providing a unique educational experience for children in the community. With a primary focus on hands-on STEM/STEAM activities, the museum's summer programs aim to engage campers in interactive learning opportunities that foster creativity and critical thinking skills. By incorporating field trips to local science centers, nature reserves, and technology companies, campers are exposed to real-world applications of STEM concepts, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of these fields.

In addition to the enriching educational activities, the museum ensures that campers are well taken care of by providing lunch and snacks throughout the day. This not only sustains the campers' energy levels but also promotes a sense of community as they gather together to enjoy meals. Furthermore, each camper receives a specially designed shirt, creating a sense of unity and belonging among the participants. By offering a comprehensive program that combines academic enrichment with social engagement, the Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum's summer programs have become a cornerstone of summer learning in the community.
